Annual GEA `Pilgrimage' to Andechs:Cycle Ride & walk to Beer gardenIt's a similar format each year, though details may change.Below are details for Sunday 5th June 2005. We walk & cycle to Andechs Beer garden. (1 or 2 even make it 20 meters past the beer garden to the Monastery). Cycle
From Central Munich. 1 or 2 pub stops on route. S Bahn back.
Lots of gears for speed. No Mountain bikes & 3 speed
clunkers (=city bike). Departure details from Julian (Note GEA
programme has my number above wrong). You can also enquire
for details @ Seehaus beer garden Friday.
3 Hour walk
Geoff Harries 6912288 will be doing his normal Sunday walk, S-Bahn Hauptbahnhof
to Possenhofen, walk
to Andechs, arriving perhaps 16:30 or so, then down to
Herrsching. Some of Geoff's group will be eating back in
Munich about 19:00/ 19:30
Shorter walk
Leave Hauptbahnhof about Midday, or join at Herrsching, then
walk up hill (not via
road, but green all round). Group ticket for some.
Organiser: Norma - 791 5340 / 0172 816 2750 After Andechs, we make our way in sub groups down the hill, some to Herrsching S-Bahn, many via the pier on the lake, for another beer/ ice cream/ bite to eat, maybe a swim, and to admire the view down the lake to the mountains.
